Valquirio, or Val, is co-founder of Borba Investment Realty, Inc. Val is a licensed real estate broker, and a graduate of California State University Fullerton with a Bachelors and MBA in accounting and finance. Val has an esteemed reputation among clients, family and friends as being an astute accountant and finance guru, and a trustworthy and loyal figure.
Michael has been working in the family business since graduating with his Bachelors in Finance from his father’s alma mater, California State University Fullerton. More recently Michael graduated with his MBA from USC. Michael is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and a Certified Property Manager candidate. He is a golf enthusiast, avid cyclist, and proud husband and father of two sons.
Maria is a co-founder Borba Investment Realty, Inc. Maria is a licensed real estate agent, and was well known for being a Top Producer at the brokerages she worked for. Maria is a great communicator and manager. Though she is semi-retired, she still has responsibilities in the maintenance department. More importantly, as the company cheerleader she can always offer an ever important morale boost.
Sonya is a Realtor with over 17 years of experience in sales and service. She has an MBA from Pepperdine University. She is the latest Borba to join the Borba team with enthusiasm and passion, bringing her extensive management and leadership experience to the table. Her goal is to create a company culture and brand that associates, vendors, clients, tenants are proud to be a part of.
Aurora joined Borba Investment Realty in 2009 and is responsible for every facet of accounting. She works promptly and efficiently with vendors, tenants and property owners ensuring the financial plans and policies of properties are maintained. She is a valuable member of the Borba team.
Loly has over 15 years of experience in property management. She is CAM certified and is continuously updating her education in property management. She also has over seven years of maintenance experience which lends itself well to dealing with major rehabs. She is the gateway to our clients and ensures communication with them in a timely manner, maintaining exceptional client service and satisfaction.
Leo is responsible for managing the maintenance crew and apartment turnover maintenance. He makes sure that our clients get the best prices on quality maintenance, and that our new tenants move in to pristine well maintained homes. He is known for his can-do attitude and professionalism.
Genaro is a Property Supervisor who is known for being a team player. He is responsible for approximately 400 units at Borba Realty, and can be counted on to be professional, courteous, and get the job done. When he’s not working with clients and residents, he continues to use his teamwork skills on the soccer field. Defense is his specialty.
Raquel Gonzalez has been in the property management industry for over 20 years. She excels at managing and mentoring neighboring managers. Raquel oversees a portfolio of properties and their respective employees. Her duties include overseeing collections, budgets, financials, field inspections, marketing, leasing and supervising rehabs of the communities. Raquel holds her Certified Apartment Managers designation (CAM) and was awarded Property Supervisor of the Year in 2003 and 2006 by the Apartment Association of California Southern Cities. She is also Fair Housing Certified and holds an EPA Renovator Certification. Raquel’s positive attitude, leadership skills, and infectious enthusiasm make her a spot-on fit at Borba Realty.
Julie is a Property Supervisor with a strong background in Maintenance, Accounting, and Administration. Her keen attention to detail and belief in stellar customer service make her a focused and swift manager. “Strive not to be a success, but rather of value” by Albert Einstein is what she lives by. Julie has two loves: her family and the outdoors.
Erika has maintained a solid career in property management industry for more than 18 years and is responsible for approximately 400 units at Borba Realty. She keeps owners and tenants happy by putting them first. She thrives when visiting her properties and has a can-do, hands-on approach. She’s a winner and a keeper and Borba is lucky to have her on the team.
Cristina has been with Borba Realty for 9 years in a variety of roles. Her current position is that of Delinquency Specialist, where she manages all delinquencies and evictions. In addition, Cristina is an on-site manager for a 46 unit Borba property. Her enthusiasm and experience make her an asset at Borba. Her love of her family, especially her two sons, make every day an amazing day.
Mari joins the Borba team in the Accounting department. She has extensive experience in accounts payable, and a keen eye for detail. Her experience in administration and customer service make her an ideal teammate and support for the team. Her enthusiasm and energy is infectious.
Brandy joins the Borba Accounting Department as an Accounts Payable Specialist. She is also a college student, working toward her degree in Occupational Therapy to help disabled and special needs children. In her free time, this energetic and friendly gal loves to try new restaurants and food spots, and watch Disney movies.
Alma is a dedicated and hardworking team member. She joined Borba Realty as an office assistant, and is now an integral part of the accounting department. She is friendly, polite, and a team player. She has many years’ experience in property management, making her an asset to the company. When she is not giving it her all at Borba, she is a proud soccer mom and dedicated to her family.
Melinda has been in the Real Estate and Mortgage industry for over 21 years, and management and marketing for over ten years. She has her associates degree in Business Management from Fullerton College. She joins the Borba team to effectively manage the marketing of vacancies and Borba the company. For fun, Melinda has a variety of hobbies: sewing, cooking, and furniture rehabbing. She adores fine dining with her husband and paddle boarding with her family at the beach.
Tina Marie Mejia
Tina Marie is a valuable part of the Leasing department; she is known for her impeccable customer service. She is also a returning college student completing her degree in business administration. She is active in her church volunteering her time as a team leader for the media department. She also volunteers extensively with homeless outreach projects. She has three beautiful children, one grandson, and one on the way! She is an excellent cook and loves cooking for her family and friends.
Janina joins the Borba leasing team with a background in property management. She is personable, trustworthy and organized. When not processing new resident applications, Janina enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, and time with family and friends.
Elisa has been in property management since 2002. She started out as an Assistant Property Manager and had that title for five years for two different communities. She then moved positions to try her hand at customer service in Leasing. She loves helping people find the place that they are going to call home and make lifetime memories. Elisa has efficient training in Fair Housing and continues to educate herself with these laws. While an Assistant Manager, she was awarded with a plaque for the #1 crime free property in East County San Diego, by the San Diego Sheriff’s Dept. She is very family oriented, and loves spending time with her husband and kids. She gives 110% to co-workers, family, customers and her church.
Natalie has worked in reception for 6 years and in customer service for 8 years, working with people over the phone or in person her whole work life. She likes to see people happy, satisfied and smiling. Her kindness and helpfulness translates to her fellow co-workers and clients alike. She has been a hair stylist for 5 years, is bilingual and likes to hike on her time off.
Melissa is a get-it-done team member that excels in the Maintenance department. She has exceptional communication skills, is organized, reliable, and gets the job done. When she is not taking care of our residents, she loves to cook, read horror books, do arts and crafts, and sew. She loves movies, especially horror and loves movies from the 50’s and 60’s. Music is always in the background, especially if it’s rock, 80’s, country, reggae, R&B, rap, hip hop or Spanish. On the weekends, she hangs with some of her favorite people – her young nephew, cousins, or friends.
Victoria has been working since she was 14; her first job was a summer intern for the Long Beach City Managers’ Office. She started in property management at the young age of 18 and has a total of 5 years combined experience in property management having worked as a receptionist, leasing agent, and maintenance coordinator. When she’s not coordinating maintenance at Borba, she enjoys cruising the coast, day or night, to relax and take in the views. She loves being able to help people and it shows; she excels at customer service with a friendly smile.
Sophia joins the Maintenance Department at Borba Realty with almost 3 years of property management experience specializing in receptionist work and Leasing. She is optimistic, creative, and a team player. In her free time, she spends time with her daughter and family. Sophia loves to create makeup tutorials, watch crime movies, and listen to music. Her favorite music is the oldies, 80’s and alternative rock.
Gregorio is one of the most tenured associates at Borba. He is in the field daily and serves tenants with a smile. He is extremely knowledgeable in electrical issues, plumbing, and general maintenance.
Benjamin started with Borba assisting in the turnover of units and eventually became a team member. He has been in the maintenance department for over ten years. He specializes in painting and general maintenance and can always be counted on in a pinch.
